Ingredients

For the Cookies

  • 1 batch Chewy Maple Cinnamon Cookies prepared from your favorite recipe or the linked Cooking with Carlee recipe

For the White Chocolate Decoration

  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers Ghirardelli brand recommended for best results
  • 2 tablespoons holly berry sprinkles for a festive decoration

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chewy Maple Cinnamon Cookie dough according to the recipe instructions, then chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to prevent spreading.
  • Portion the chilled cookie dough into uniform 1.5-ounce balls. Using a food scale is recommended for consistently sized cookies.
  • Bake the portioned cookie dough on a light-colored baking sheet until the edges are set and the tops are puffed. Transfer the baked cookies to a wire rack to cool completely before decorating.
  • Melt the white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat at 50% power in short intervals, stirring frequently, to ensure the chocolate melts smoothly without scorching.
  • Dip one half of each completely cooled cookie into the melted white chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the dipped cookies onto a sheet of parchment or wax paper.
  • Allow the white chocolate on the cookies to set and harden completely at room temperature. This will create a firm base for the drizzle.
  • Transfer the remaining melted white chocolate into a piping bag or a sturdy ziplock bag. Snip a very small piece off the corner to create a fine tip for drizzling.
  • Drizzle the melted white chocolate artfully over the already-hardened white chocolate portion of each cookie to create a beautiful, layered design.
  • Immediately garnish the cookies with festive holly berry sprinkles while the drizzle is still wet, so they adhere properly. Let the cookies set completely, then serve and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Food Scale
  • Light Colored Baking Sheet
  • Microwave-Safe Bowl
  • Parchment paper
  • Piping Bag

Notes

For perfectly soft and chewy cookies, be sure not to over-bake them; pull them from the oven when the centers are still puffy and the edges are just set. Using a light-colored baking sheet helps prevent the bottoms from browning too quickly. These cookies also freeze well—simply wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and store them in a freezer-safe container.
