Ingredients 

  • 3 bananas medium ripe, yellow but still firm
  • 1.5 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed is recommended

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the banana slices from sticking.
  • Slice the peeled bananas into uniform ⅛-inch thick rounds, ensuring consistent thickness for even baking and crisping.
  • Brush both sides of each banana slice with lemon juice. This adds a subtle tang and helps prevent them from browning too much.
  • Arrange the coated banana slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they do not touch or overlap.
  • Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the edges begin to dry and the slices can be easily lifted from the parchment paper.
  • Flip each chip carefully and continue baking for another 30 minutes on the second side, or until they are lightly golden and dehydrated.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the banana chips cool completely on the sheet for at least 30 minutes. They will become perfectly crispy as they cool.
